At the finish line, you have

Not notes about a plan: things that exist, that you can show.

  • One sentence about you that other people can repeat
  • Three pieces of proof that show the work instead of claiming it
  • One useful article and one public piece of work, published
  • The sentence that made it click for the people you showed it to

Brand is what people repeat about you

Not your logo. When someone recommends you, they use one sentence, and they can only use it if you gave it to them and showed them something that proves it. Most people skip both and post more.

Two weeks, in order

Message first: what you want to be known for. Then proof: the work that shows it. Then publishing, then distribution to the people who matter. Each stage takes a few days and ends with a checklist.

What you have after 14 days

A sentence other people can repeat, three pieces of proof, one article and one public piece of work, and the words of the people you showed them to. That last part is the most useful: their sentence is usually better than yours.

The plan, step by step

Each step is a short read and a checklist. Tick everything, then move on.

  1. Step 1Days 1–3

    Position

Choose the problem you want to be remembered for, and list the evidence you already have.

Done when: the problem space in one sentence; ten pieces of evidence listed; the sentence tested on two people.

    Read it now
  2. Step 2Days 4–7

    Package the proof

Turn projects into short case studies, demos and notes, and rewrite your profile so it explains the work instead of advertising you.

Done when: three case studies or demos, one page each; profile rewritten around the problem, not adjectives.

  3. Step 3Days 8–11

    Publish

Ship one useful piece of writing and one public proof of work, and make both easy to share.

Done when: one article published; one proof of work published; both with a link that previews well.

  4. Step 4Days 12–14

    Distribute

Share with the people you actually want to know, and learn which sentence makes the work click for them.

Done when: sent personally to ten people; their words written down; your sentence updated with theirs.

It's for you if you are

  • Freelancers who are hard to recommend because nobody knows how to describe them
  • Makers whose projects are better than the way they talk about them
  • People changing jobs or fields

It's not for

  • Logo and colour work: brand here means reputation, not decoration
  • Growing a large audience fast

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. Leave your email address and every stage opens. That address gets a link to open the challenge on your other devices, and nothing else unless you tick the box.

I do not have much to show.

You have more than you think: work for clients, side projects, things you fixed at a job, notes you wrote for colleagues. Stage one is about finding it.

Do I need a website?

It helps, and the 5-day website challenge is the shortcut. But the proof can live anywhere you can link to.
