Privacy
This page explains what personal data bemorin.com and the products published under it (Planner, Sudoku, Prompt, Convert and Silence) handle, and why. The short version: most of these products keep your data in your own browser, and we never see it.
Who is responsible
Ben Morin, as described in the legal notice. Write to hello@bemorin.com for any question or request about your data.
This website
- No analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
- Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical request data (IP address, browser, pages requested) to deliver and protect the site. These logs are kept for a short time.
- If you email us, we use your message and address to reply.
Planner
- Your plans are stored in your browser, on your device. They are not sent to our servers.
- Sync is optional. If you connect your Google account, the planner can only reach its own hidden file in your Google Drive, not your other files. Your plans travel between your devices and your Drive.
- Planner Plus and team gifts are paid through Creem, the merchant of record, which processes your payment and billing details and sends your receipt and invoice.
- A team gift is activated by opening a link. No names or accounts are collected, and we cannot see who activated it.
- If you ask for a quote or an invoice, we use the details you give (work email, name, company, team size, message, website) to answer and invoice you.
Dogood
Dogood has its own privacy policy, at dogood.bemorin.com/privacy.
Sudoku, Prompt, Convert and Silence
They run in your browser. Puzzles, scripts, audio files, settings and statistics stay on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Courses and challenges
- Payments for courses go through Stripe. We receive your name, email address and what you bought, not your card details.
- Free challenges and kits ask for your email address, to send you their link (for a challenge, the link that opens it on your other devices).
- When the form says that the newsletter comes with it, or when you tick its box, the same email also asks you to confirm the newsletter. Until you press that button, your address is not on the newsletter's list (see below).
- Your access is kept in a cookie on your device. To sign in on another device we email you a link, sent through Resend.
- Your progress through the lessons and steps is stored in your browser only.
Newsletter
- If you subscribe, we keep your email address to send you the newsletter, and nothing else. You subscribe in two steps: the form (on /newsletter, or with a free kit or challenge when the form says so), then the button in the email we send you. Until you press it, your address is not on the list.
- As proof that you asked for it, we also keep the date you pressed that button, the form you came from and the words it showed. If you ask us to delete your data, they go too.
- The list is kept by Resend, which also sends the emails. Every email has a link to unsubscribe in one click; your address then receives nothing more.
- You can also ask us to delete your address at any time.
Project applications
- When you apply to work together or ask for advice ("Start a project"), we keep what you wrote (your project, your name, your company, your email and the answers you chose) to reply to you and to prepare a proposal. You get a copy of the same brief by email. If you write again later, your new request is linked to your earlier ones by your address.
- While you fill it in, your answers are kept in your browser only, so that closing the window loses nothing. They leave your device when you press "Send". Once sent, your browser remembers it, so the window shows your application as received.
- The brief is stored in this site's database (Cloudflare) and sent by email through Resend. It is never shared or sold.
Counting without tracking
This site counts its visits itself, as daily totals: the pages read, the name of the site a visit came from (not the full address), the country (from the network, not your IP address, which is not kept) and the kind of device. It also counts how often the "before you go" invitation is shown, closed or used, and how many sign-ups each form brings. These are totals only: no cookie, no IP address, nothing that tells one visitor from another, and nothing shared with anyone. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, your visit is not counted at all.
To tell the first page of a visit from the next ones, the tab keeps a note in its session storage, deleted when you close it; and your browser remembers that you closed the invitation, so it stays closed (see cookies).
Legal bases
- Contract: processing a purchase, giving access to what you bought, sending receipts.
- Legitimate interest: keeping the services secure and answering your messages and project applications.
- Consent: optional features you switch on yourself, such as Planner's Google Drive sync, the newsletter or news by email.
- Legal obligation: keeping accounting records.
Service providers
| Provider | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting and delivery of bemorin.com and its subdomains, and this site’s anonymous counters (Workers, D1). |
| Creem | Merchant of record for Planner Plus and team gifts: takes the payment, charges VAT and issues receipts and invoices. |
| Stripe | Payments for services invoiced to businesses, and card payments for courses. |
| Planner’s optional sync, only if you connect your own Google Drive. | |
| Resend | Sends course and challenge access emails, and keeps the newsletter list and sends it to people who subscribed. |
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep data
- Emails: as long as the conversation needs, then deleted.
- Project applications: two years after our last exchange, unless we work together (then as long as the contract requires).
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. An address that never confirmed is not kept on the list; its confirmation link stops working after 7 days.
- Purchases and invoices: as long as accounting law requires.
- Data stored in your browser: until you delete it. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it for good, so keep the backups each product offers.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to hello@bemorin.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Children
These services are not aimed at children under 16.
